This past week I was thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in Zentangle HQ’s zenAgain 2025, a special event for Certified Zentangle Teachers® held both in person in Mystic, CT and online via the newly developed Zentangle Academy platform. While I had initially hoped to attend the event in person, I ended up changing my travel plans and taking advantage of the online option instead, where I joined in from the comfort of my home studio. It was a truly wonderful experience!

Throughout the four days of the conference I learned some very fun techniques which I’m excited to share with my students in the days ahead. My first offering (which I simply couldn’t WAIT to set up!) is a new Zentangle-Inspired Art (ZIA) class called Zentangle PrintZ.

In this class, we’ll look at pattern fragments and examine how they behave when tiled together in various ways. I’ll be introducing four different categories of fragments and, using accessible printmaking tools and a selection of surfaces, we’ll explore combining and manipulating them to create unique patterns. You’ll come away from this class with an almost limitless supply of creative possibilities to apply to your Zentangle and ZIA artwork, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Two IN-PERSON classes will be held at Artful3 Studio (#2-1156 Wyandotte Street East, Windsor, Ontario, Canada), and registration is now open to all (no prior experience required) on a first come, first served basis. All tools and supplies will be provided and/or available for use in class.

I hope I’ll see you there!
